Operations Management Intern
What We’re Looking For
- At the moment JustEnglish has 3 full-time employees, and honestly, we all do a bit of everything right now. But we’ve hit a point where we really need someone who can take charge of operations. Someone who can make sure things are running smoothly, keep our moderators and students happy and handle all the little things that pop up day-to-day.
- We’re looking for someone who’s good at solving problems and isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty. The title says “Operations Manager,” but to be honest—you’ll probably end up doing all sorts of things.
- No two days will be the same, so you’ll need to be comfortable figuring things out as you go.
- For example, one day we might say, "Hey, we need a better system for moderators to track student attendance. Can you sort that out?" And the next day, it might be, "Hey, this student group isn’t as engaged—can you figure out what’s going on and come up with a fix?" There’s always something new, and that’s what keeps it exciting!
- JustEnglish is a startup. We’re all easily working 40-80 hours a week. We're looking for people who understand this. If you join as an Operations Manager, you'd be doing 100 things other than operations. If you want an awesome work-life balance JustEnglish is not for you.
- The goal of this is not to scare you, rather, just be super real with you. Working at JustEnglish is hard. And, we want to be straight up about that before you take the time to apply and interview.
Our Process
- A 30-minute phone call to get to know how you work and what you're looking for.
- If you seem cool and you think we seem cool, we'll immediately start working with you on a 2-week trial period (paid).
- If the trial period goes well and we're both super excited, then we can move forward with working permanently.
Benefits
- Stock in the company (1% - 2%) + a base salary (LKR 80K - 150K).
- The range is pretty wide because we're interested in both people with very little experience and people with a lot of experience.
- But, that means different compensation packages based on the value you bring to the company on Day 1.
