Wearing the hat of an Intern

Life is always exciting as an Intern! This is what it would look like at Saltside:

- You will be participating in daily stand-up meetings to update the team on progress and identify any blockers.

- You will be writing, testing, and debugging code for assigned tasks or bugs.

- You will be collaborating with other team members to design and implement new features.

- You will be reviewing code changes and providing feedback to other team members.

- You will be required to keep yourself updated with the latest software development best practices and technologies and implement them as appropriate.

1. Technical Skills:

- Web development experience: basic understanding of HTML, CSS and Javascript. How a WebApp or an Android / iOS App works, knowing that is a plus.

- Ability to write programs: we expect you to have the ability to author clean and good quality programs in at least one programming language like C / C++, Ruby, PHP, GoLang, Java etc.

- Computer Science fundamentals: solid understanding of fundamentals of Operating Systems, Networking, Data Structures, Algorithms etc.

- Containerization (Docker), Version Control Systems (GIT) and Continuous Integration / Delivery: we expect you have experience working on Containerization (Docker), Version Control Systems (GIT) and Continuous Integration / Delivery

- Proficiency in SQL: we expect you to have good knowledge of SQL database concepts.

- Practice on Linux-based systems: we expect you to have working practice with Linux-based systems and have basic understanding of Linux Commands.

2. Other generic requirements:

- Ability to work in an Agile team environment

- Good command of the English language - both written and spoken. 

- Willingness to handle both large projects and small tasks as needed. 

- Flexibility to work in a deadline-driven environment.

Familiarity with the above-mentioned tools and skills-set might help, but even if you do not, do apply if you think you’re right for the job!

Stipend: You will receive a stipend of LKR 25,000 per month.

- Screening test

- Introductory call (15 mins)

- Round 1 - Technical Round (60 mins)

- Round 2 - Technical Round (45 mins)

- Round 3 - Managerial Round (45 mins)

- Round 4 - HR Round (45 mins)
